The Greencastle girls’ golf team captured their first win of the season, defeating North Montgomery 235-249 Monday.
Leading the charge was Chelsea Samuels, who shot a 46 to earn medalist honors. Kristen Hutcheson followed with 60, Katie Hedge added a 63 and Diane Wokoun shot a 66. Kay Wood come to the clubhouse with a 70.
“We’re quite happy to get our first win of the season, although we still have a lot of learning to do” GHS head coach Brad Kingma said. “Chelsea was the critical score as she came out strong following rough performances the last two times out. She was even par after the first four holes, which is quite an accomplishment considering their difficulty.”
Greencastle will take on the host South Putnam Eagles and Danville at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
